to their church home, to worship together as stated by Apostle Paul in

2 Corinthians 6:17: Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith
the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing,
and I will receive you.

ABOUT OUR CHURCH

SUBC is a Gospel Church that was organized February 1951 by the late Reverend William Lloyd Watts. He
possessed a zeal for the Lord that was more pronounced than an ordinary man. SUBC started as a Family
Church. Its first location was on 4th Street, NW in the District of Columbia as a house church. In 1954
moved to 1628 11th Street, NW. Then on August 10, 1974, SUBC moved to 1201 N. Street, NW. Lastly, on
February 19, 1984, moved to 1107 Delaware Avenue, SW which is its present location. The Church
presently is one that focus on Community needs.

MINISTRIES

SUBC has a Fivefold Ministry. This term refers to the role of the church defines by Apostle, Prophet,
Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher found in the book of Ephesians 4:11. Among the saints, they’re given
various Gifts of the Spirit manifested as either an Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher
within the Body of Christ.

SERVICES

SUBC regular service hours are

11:00 am every Sunday. Special Services are conducted certain months of the year, in the afternoon at 3:00 pm. The purpose of the services is to honor and celebrate various
ministries of this church whose services are observed yearly.
